Our Week: 13

Our life.

One week at a time.

2012.

Week 13.

This week. . .
(3.25.12 -3.31.12)

I answered calls of distress to find this little girl stuck while trying to climb up to get the the tv buttons.  And me running to get my camera didn't make her much happier!

But leaving to go to our friends' neighborhood beach made everyone happy.  These are our friends that have five kids also...three older boys and two younger girls just like our family.  Our kids play great together and we can just sit and relax and enjoy God's creations...both the landscape and these sweet little people running around.

You can see how this beach thing is a recurring event with us.  As much as I enjoy our home school curriculum, I am so ready for summer break.  I'm like a little kid in school, staring out the window of our school room and wishing I could be outside.

This week in school, week 28:
  • We read all about the Indian middle ages.  As in the Indians of India.  We dressed Leah in a suri and made Chapatis for a snack along with Chai tea (or a version of it anyways).
  • Our last day of history this week was about Christopher Columbus' journeys to the West Indies.  That's a pretty exciting point in our history for my boys.
  • We learned about space rocks in Astronomy.
  • Gabriel read more about Joseph and then we went on to the story of Moses in his Bible reader.
  • We also started Gabriel's Science with Water book.  Playing with water for school was a big hit with him.
Leah in her homemade sari.

Making homemade Chapitis (Indian tortilla-like snack).

Matthew's notes about space rocks.

Christopher's comic about a planet exploding to form the asteroid belt.

Gabe learned about family trees and we drew one for Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob's family.

And we did a rough (unfinished) family tree for our family just to show him how it works.

We had a great week and I hope you enjoy your week!

Hey, we just studied this, this week. I am just loving the astronomy and learning so much. The day at the beach looks wonderful.
