Snow?

So once again San Antonio is confused and forgets that it is in the very southern United States.

According to friends who are San Antonio natives, this is the most snow ever in their lifetime to have fallen down here.

The city shut down on account of a half inch of snow.
The kids thought it was great.  The older two kids are the only ones who remember the snow in Nebraska.  Gabe was two and Leah was a newborn whe we moved down to Texas.

Chris even busted out the mini snow shovel so he could shovel up a pile of snow big enough for the kids to play in. Yes, we have snow shovels in our garage from our Nebraska days.  And some snow boots and lots of mittens.

Anna did not like it.  At all.  She touched it when we first brought her outside, but she tried to get away from it whenever we tried after that.  I was a little surprised since she'll usually grab anything to put it in her mouth.

We were happy for the day off of work for Chris.  And for everyone not having to drive around the icy, slippery city with no experience driving in this stuff.

Leah stayed out the longest to play in the snow.  She kept trying to throw snowballs at us but the snow was too powdery to pack well enough to make anything.  She thought it was good enough though.
And it melted by the early afternoon.
